John relocated to Roanoke after growing up in Fairfax County. After a career in financial planning, he followed his passion to co-found the JPG Agency, a branding and visual storytelling firm.

They are also known far and wide for the famous Lucky Cube, a perfectly flavored ice block crafted to slowly release flavor as the ice melts into your favorite bourbon.

Located in the trendy Wasena neighborhood, Bloom offers fresh, seasonal libations in a bright and intimate setting. Their outdoor courtyard and patio are a popular destination on a beautiful Blue Ridge day. Their creative cocktail flavors and beautiful floral accents will have you coming back again and again.

390 Franklin St. (Rocky Mount)
This popular Rocky Mount destination is all about the experience. Sneak into the speakeasy-style bar through a 1920’s themed faux barbershop. Once you find the secret door, you’ll enter a world from a bygone era. The cocktails are experiential, unique, and oh so tasty.

Have your eyes peeled! If you’re walking along Kirk Ave. you may pass right by the unmarked speakeasy. Look for the red light (HINT: It’s next door to Fortunato). It’s the perfect spot to escape the ordinary and indulge in a cocktail experience that will make you feel as though you’ve been transported to the bustling cocktail scenes of New York or DC.

There’s no better way to enjoy a handcrafted cocktail than overlooking the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in historic downtown Fincastle. People travel out of the way to check out their unique prop plane bar, and refined cocktail selection.

The exquisitely remodeled bank turned boutique hotel and luxury bar and restaurant is a total vibe and they even offer live music most nights of the week. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic cocktail or prefer to explore their inventive creations, Liberty Trust Hotel with their one-of-a-kind Vault (yes, you can eat in a bank vault) provides the perfect backdrop to vibe out to some great tunes while indulging in your favorite libations.

Frankie Rowland’s is a Roanoke Region staple providing grade-A steaks and top-notch cocktails six nights a week. Best news ever!! They recently opened a new location on Main St. in Salem so you can easily enjoy Frankie’s without going to downtown Roanoke.

This classy joint is located in the well-establish South Roanoke neighborhood close to the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine campus and innovation corridor. Their classic cocktail selection is timeless, delicious, and never goes out of style.

For a truly unique setting, venture into Stock, where cocktails blend seamlessly with artistry and design. Set within the Txtur furniture store, Stock offers a one-of-a-kind experience where you can sip your libations amidst stunning contemporary pieces. Immerse yourself in the creative ambiance as you savor handcrafted cocktails that are as visually appealing as they are delicious.

This prohibition-era style lounge expands our minds to the realm of possibility when it comes to cocktails. We love Lush because they take risks, but it always pays off. Floyd is a fun day trip, or overnight, from anywhere in the Roanoke Region. If you head to Floyd then Lush is a must-see on your journey.
