Get2KnowNoke Launches New Website – A Transformational Tool for Talent Attraction and Community Connectivity
Get2KnowNoke, the talent attraction brand for the Roanoke Regional Partnership, is excited to announce the launch of the fully redesigned Get2KnowNoke.com. This cutting-edge online platform is designed to be the go-to resource for individuals looking to start and grow their careers, find a place to live, and connect with the people and places that fit their lifestyle.
With its colorful, sleek design, this comprehensive website is meant to make it easy to discover the benefits of the Roanoke Region for potential residents, job seekers, and employers.
- Potential residents can discover the perfect neighborhood, explore local events, and find essential resources to make their move seamless.
- Job and internship seekers can browse a robust jobs board with top opportunities from regional employers and join the free talent network to connect with potential employers.
- Companies in the network conveniently have their job listings pull in automatically but can also use this new platform to access a pool of qualified candidates. In the resource section, they can find relevant state, local, and federal incentives and services that can help them find talent.
“I am so proud of the work this team has done. There was nothing like this in the market, and every element of the design and the content had to be created from scratch,” remarked Julia Boas, director of talent strategies at the Roanoke Regional Partnership. “It was a big undertaking, but the effort will pay off, and I feel confident this will be a highly utilized tool by governments, businesses, and recruits alike.”
The website’s standout features that Partnership staff believe are transformational tools for talent attraction include: the Find Your Neighborhood tool; a comprehensive, regional jobs board; a resources page to make relocation and integration into the community as smooth as possible; and the Talent Network, which connects job seekers with employers based on skills and experience.
“The Partnership meets with companies regularly that are looking to relocate or expand, and one of the top factors for decision-makers is a region’s workforce,” says John Hull, executive director for the Roanoke Regional Partnership. “The Roanoke Region is attracting talent, and Get2KnowNoke is supporting workforce/population growth. This site showcases the growth opportunity while also making it easy for new talent to relocate and integrate into the community.”
This site is a collaborative effort with design and development created by the Roanoke Regional Partnership and Firefli’s web team, and funding support thanks to GO Virginia Region 2 and the Greater Roanoke Workforce Development Board.
“We are thrilled at the work the Partnership has undertaken to create this resource to show what we already know – the Roanoke Region is the best place to call home. This talent portal is vital to the region’s efforts on talent attraction, development, and retention — now anyone can find information on great jobs, affordability, and the adventurous spirit that makes this place so wonderful,” said Morgan Romeo, executive director of the Greater Roanoke Workforce Development Board.
The Partnership hopes that both employers and professionals (whether they are currently seeking jobs or not), join the Talent Network. The network serves to keep professionals in the loop regarding quality job opportunities and it allows employers to always have a pool of qualified, local candidates at their fingertips. This tool has the potential to solve many hiring challenges by providing a qualified pool of candidates within a matter of seconds. For job seekers, the benefits are obvious—you can be matched with positions based on your skills, experience, and interest. However, it is also ideal for professionals who are not actively seeking new employment—they can be alerted to opportunities they otherwise would not know about, thus, providing avenues for professional and financial growth.
We are actively collecting resources to ensure we are a truly comprehensive guide. If you have any suggestions or thoughts for resources, please submit them through our contact form.
To celebrate this new regional asset coming online, Get2KnowNoke is hosting a website launch party on Tuesday, September 10 at 202 Social House at 5:30 PM to give people an opportunity to hear details from the creators and join the Talent Network. Prizes and swag will be given to attendees. Please RSVP to the launch party here.
