Thousands of people throughout the region are currently employed in finance, insurance, and real estate. And the business cluster is expected to grow another 10 percent by 2026. Company footprints include national, regional, and local headquarters, as well as regional customer service centers.

Globalization, a growing economy, and an increasingly complex tax environment are expected to grow demand for accountants and auditors. Additionally, data-driven business decisions are leading to a demand for market research analysts.

Higher education throughout the Roanoke Region is answering the call. Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business, ranked in the Top 50 by U.S. News & World Report, has more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Radford University and Roanoke College also maintain strong business programs that ready students for careers in finance and insurance.
