Save the Date for Annual Experience Conference

You might have noticed that Experience looks a little different.

Now in its fifth year, the annual conference for young professionals in the Roanoke Region is growing and will get full-time management from the Roanoke Regional Partnership. The conference, which has its own identity, can still be accessed at experienceyp.com and lives within this website.

Experience – June 6-7 at the Taubman Museum in Roanoke – will feature national and regional experts on topics that explore the future of work, preparing young professionals to help take their companies to the next level. The conference offers unique opportunities to gain leadership skills, network with leaders, and develop a deeper connection to the Roanoke Region. Experience also includes leadership and outdoor activities that weave in the regional narrative that this is a great place to work, live, and play.

Weaving Experience into Get2KnowNoke creates a more strategic and comprehensive talent attraction program and pipeline. The annual event is still planned and developed by a committee of young professional volunteers, now with the full-time backing of long-time Experience volunteer Erin Burcham, director of talent solutions for the Roanoke Regional Partnership.

New this year is attention to talent attraction and engaging summer interns working in the region. Experience can be a great opportunity to help integrate new workers into the community. (Finding a “tribe” is great for retention.)
